The Scottish National Pain Management Programme provide intensive group programmes to people from all over Scotland who live with chronic pain. The programme supports those living with pain to develop self-management skills to improve the aspects in life that have been affected and to feel able to live a more fulfilling life.
The team is based on the Gartnavel Hospital Campus in Glasgow and have been delivering pain management programmes since 2015.
The team offer in-person and virtual programmes. The number of hours per programme is similar. The in-person programme runs daily across 3 weeks for full days. The virtual programme runs daily across 5 weeks for 3 hours in the morning.
Living with chronic pain is not easy as it can affect all aspects of life. Pain often has a major impact on everyday physical activities. It can also change how people think and feel about their life. It is common for people to feel frustrated, angry, depressed or anxious. Pain can also frequently affect relationships with friends and family.
