Volunteering with the Programme
There are a number of ways programme graduates can volunteer and become involved with the service.
These include and are not limited to:
- Speaking about your experiences to current patients attending PMP groups
- Being involved in organising and/or planning one off events associated with the PMP and chronic pain
- Being involved in reviewing new information such as leaflets or presentations within the PMP
- Being part of video projects to share experience of attending the programme and managing chronic pain long term after completing the group programme
- Speaking at meetings with other health professionals about your experiences of the service
Volunteers have been and are currently involved in a number of these activities and continue to add rich value to the service along with supporting service improvement initiatives. If you have graduated from a programme and you have an interest in volunteering, let us know by emailing scottish.pmp@nhs.scot
